Now working with DPReview.com, I was previously the Managing Editor of Imaging Resource, having started there in 2013.
I began my serious journey into the world of photography starting around 2007 while studying at Georgia Tech. Not long after getting a Nikon D80 -- my first "real camera" -- I joined The Technique, the Georgia Tech student newspaper. Initially, I began as a photographer and found a love for the challenge of sports photography. I eventually joined the staff as Assistant News Editor, but continued handling some photographic assignments.
My passion for photography continued after graduating in 2009 with an internship at a local newspaper, The Rockdale News. This opportunity drew me into the world of "HD-DSLR video". At this time I switched over to a Canon 5D Mark II and 7D. Subsequently, I took on a full-time position as a multimedia producer at The Covington News and The Rockdale News, using photos and video to cover local news and sports. In addition to my news-centric role, I also produced various commercial videos and other digital media products for these newspapers. My photojournalism work garnered a handful of awards, both individually and as part of an editorial team, from the Georgia Associated Press and the Georgia Press Association.
After working for the newspaper, I wanted to continue working in the photographic industry and joined the Imaging Resource team in 2013. As Editor, my primary role revolves around producing engaging, authoritative, and in-depth digital camera reviews, across all types of cameras and brands, utilizing both Imaging Resource's trusted laboratory analysis and real-world field testing.
Outside of work, I enjoy volunteering my time as a photographer for several Atlanta-area non-profit organizations, The Georgia Conservancy, Global Growers Network, and The Giving Kitchen.
